Joyous Janmashtami Celebrations @ Chinmaya Surya

With the grace of Lord Krishna and blessings of Pujya Swami Chinmayananda, Joyous Janmashtami was celebrated in Chinmaya Mission, Puducherry in a very grand manner. Janmashtami is a very special day in the Hindu tradition where the birth of lord Krishna, the 8th manifestation of lord Vishnu is celebrated."You are dreaming that you are away from Krishna, you have no existence without His touch!" - thus spake Swami Chinmayananda. Krishna is Truth. He was born in the quiet heart caves of the Rishis. Those rishis have gradually transmitted their knowledge to their disciples.
Under the guidance of Acharya Brni. Shruti Chaitanya, the celebrations started at 6.30 pm with Ashtotra Pujanam, Nama Japam, Stavanam, Chintanam, Keertanam, and Nrutyam. Devotees around 100 participated with full enthusiasm. Prasadam was distributed during the break for 30 minutes. That was followed by conventional Ganapathi Puja, Maha Vishnu Puja, Abishekam. Maha Aarati was performed during the birth time of Lord Krishna i.e. 12 midnight. That was followed by bajans and kolaatam. The celebrations ended at about 12.30 midnight. Members of Chinmaya Mission and family members of Smt. Sakuntala Gupta have arranged the entire programme.
